This painting was done at Mission San Jose in September, entirely en plein air (except for the addition of the bird later). It is currently on exhibit at the Valley Art Gallery in Walnut Creek. |
We are artists who paint en plein air in Northern California—usually in or near the SF Bay Area. Our group was formed in memory of Jade Fon, AWS, who left us in 1983. His masterful award-winning paintings still inspire us, as do the stories of his teachings and sayings retold by those in the group who were privileged to be his students.
